A Look at Current Polish Campaigns – December 2017

Time to wrap up the year with a look at final set of Polish campaigns on Kickstarter. This time we’re talking about five different projects. Four of them are still in the funding phase. You can support them and take part in the successes of their creators. We’ll wrap up with a campaign that has recently been completed but is really worth a mention.

Enchanters: Lost Loot

In spring 2017 a game called “Enchanters” took hearts and minds of board game lovers by storm. Project quickly got to 7500 USD and became funded in one day. That’s the best proof of the interest it managed to spark.

The success of the game made by Gindie-Ludi Booster (and released by Table Top) is based on quick, simple, and really fun gameplay. Players have to show their ability to predict and plan. Each of them, apart from combating dangerous enemies, is building his or her own artifact. The game concludes when the last card is drawn.

Overlook

The game created by Warsaw based Gametroleum looks like a tempting idea for an evening with friends. Title was created with both PC’s and consoles in mind.

Up to 16 players (!) take roles of infected robots or supervisors. The tasks and victory conditions depend on whichever side you take. Infected robots are trying to infect other cyborgs and their side wins when there are no healthy ones left. Supervisors (that look like clutches) have to eliminate robots who infect others with “plague”. They win when every single robot is captured.

The gameplay is enhanced by additional rules that players can freely activate. The creators promise to keep developing expansions to the game in a regular manner.

APPLESS – Be Free From the Screen

The idea for APPLESS was born during meetings of a group of friends. Pawel, Maciej, Maciej and Karol kept looking at people unable to keep their eyes away from smartphone screens and decided to take action. They felt that that their idea is important and one of a kind.

That’s how APPLESS started to take form. It’s an app that minimizes your cell phone usage to a reasonable minimum. It uses blockades, collects data about time spent looking at the screen and will also add parental controls option in the future.

The creators are using plenty of arguments. They mention statistics according to which we look at our phones from 100 to 1000 times a day. They also list all the dangers and illnesses related to staring at your smartphone. They have consulted their solutions with therapists, doctors and developmental psychology experts.

Freestyler

Here’s a tiny gadget aimed at people who have a problem with concentrating. A proper successor to Fidget Cube? So far it doesn’t seem like that.

Freestyler can be clasped in your hands. Its uniquelly profiled shape allows for performing various tricks. This tiny device will not only help you concentrate but also strengthen your finger muscles.

The weakest side of the whole project is its campaign page. Few photos and a little bit of content – that’s all you can see there. No data about new or planned materials, little info regarding what to expect and unused Kickstarted features such as the stretch goals.

This campaign has already been funded but we can’t simply ignore the success of this unique figure collection created by the Into the Unknown team (with a support from Tabletop Games).

“Nymphs” consists of 10 figurines inspired by ancient myths. Even though the characters are presented in the pin-up style, during the creation process the authors kept consulting books and materials written by experts in the mythology field.
