Akita – an Innovative Home Security Solution

In places where we see how our daily lives could be improved by technology, others see their chance. Chance to make money and gain valuable information. Your house has more open windows than you may be aware of. That’s why a device called Akita was created.

What is Akita and How Does It Work

This tiny and futuristic looking gadget effectively protects your home network. Connecting it to a LAN port in your router allows functions like: protection of home devices, preventing attacks, blocking malware and supporting the Internet of Things. The Creators boast about Akita’s innovativeness and its non-invasive way of operating (Akita doesn’t use DPI – Deep Packet Inspection). The way in which Akita works can be divided into 3 parts. First: the device is scanning the web and the activity of all devices in it. Next, when any potential dangers are discovered, Akita instantly blocks them and then finally: notifies the owner. The app used in the communication is available on Android and iOS systems.

Akita has some additional advantages like an easy installation process (plug&play) and free updates (at the moment available only for Kickstarter backers), thanks to which the protection becomes stronger and optimized for our daily routines.

Do We Really Need This in Our Lives?

A hacker attack on your fridge? Until recently it would sound absurd and that how it’s been for a long time. Nowadays though, when latest devices collect more and more information about our lives, it slowly stops to be just an imaginary danger. The creators of Akita’s campaign state that the number of attacks targeting homes grows with each passing year (50% rise during last 6 months). They also quote professional media warning people about insufficient protection and effects of someone unwanted breaching into our home network. This is enough to make potential customers interested.
