How Does the Lovebox Work?
At first, Lovebox may remind you of a cute container like ones used to store small trinkets. It turns out that it’s inner part is much more interesting. After opening the lid our eyes will notice a small screen. That’s where the messages written in a dedicated app will appear. A rotating front wall heart will notice you about receiving them.
Lovebox is intended as a way of sending warm and heartfelt messages. The creators say that it’s a perfect idea for couples, families and people who often leave their home. It’s not hard to imagine the joy of receiving a message as a kid or a grandparent. Additionally, the creators claim that Lovebox can enliven the atmosphere at your workplace.
How Was it Made?
Hard layer covering the box was crafted from polished beech wood. Inside, under the LED screen, you’ll find some construction elements, an engine and electric plates. The structure isn’t super complicated. Designing the device though, took lots of time, starting from the early concepts to a final version shown to backers. Changes were made not only in the mechanical department but also in the visual design.
The History of Lovebox and Its Campaign
The device as unique as Lovebox must of course have a special history behind it. It all began when Jean left France to become a student at MIT. Marie, his beloved, remained in their home country. That’s when the idea for the gadget was conceived. A box that would allow Jean to communicate with his partner in an unique way. Fascinated by Jean’s creation Marie asked him to build another one – for her sister living in London.
The campaign is focused on feelings. Creators present information in a rational and honest way, but the love itself plays the first fiddle. More sceptical Kickstarter users will find tons of examples of how the gadget can be used and how it makes for a great gift. The Christmas is upon us and less than 2 months later we’ll be celebrating Valentine’s Day. You certainly won’t lack occasions to bestow someone with this cute wooden cube.
