LOODO NINJA – Best Board Games to Back on Kickstarter This March

Hello friends. Long time no see! If you were missing my Kickstarter campaign recommendations: here I am, ready to show you my favourite games that are all backable right now. Let’s go!

Super Fantasy Brawl: Round 2!

One of my favourite skirmish pvp board games is back on Kickstarter, and seems to have tons of content: both new and old, including exclusives and add-ons from the previous campaigns. Some of these have never appeared in retail editions, so if you like games like this and you missed the previous KS, you might be in for a treat.

Super Fantasy Brawl takes place in the world where arena battles are the most popular event, watched and discussed by everyone. The land of Fabulosa no longer wages wars and people are starving for any sort of entertainment. Powerful mages summon long gone heroes from Fabulosa, other realms and other civilizations. The game is designed either for 2 to 4 players. Everyone controls a number of heroes and does everything they can to wipe off their opponents from the arena.

The newest campaign adds 9 completely new champions with their own minis and other unique components required to use them. They come divided into 3 separate teams, each with a different theme and working as a separate expansion. Foiled Champion Cards are also available for all 24 heroes and show their leveled-up versions. One more small, but useful, addition is the double-sided playing aid sheet with quick ruleset overview. Also: the rules themselves were reviewed and feature changes coming from player feedback. i’m loving the campaign so far and can’t wait to get my hands on the new content!

Everdell: Newleaf, Mistwood, and The Complete Collection

Another of my all time favourites is back on Kickstarter and looks like we’re getting even more content than before. With so many expansions, some sort of storing solution was really necessary, and thankfully we will be getting a “Big Ol’ Box of Storage” that can hold every single piece of content released in the Everdell Franchise.

The game itself needs no introduction. It was one of the best euros released recently, and I spent hours upon hours playing it last year. Building a tableau from cards and placing your workers on the map makes your own race of animals the most helpful species, keen on expanding and improving the titular forest kingdom.

The first new expansion called Newleaf adds new critters and a train station which brings mechanics like ticket tiles and train cars into the game. Mistwood, the second expansion, brings another 4 species including spiders and lots of spider related content: from webs to the so called “nighweave cards”.

Tiny Epic Dungeons

The newest installment in the “Tiny Epic…” series by Scott Almes is finally here and looks like one of the most ambitious projects in this small-sized, but highly replayable board game series.

Tiny Epic Dungeons, like you’re probably expecting, is a dungeon crawler set in the depths of a fantasy kingdom called Aughmoore. The game can be played by 1 to 4 players and offers lots of gameplay content despite being quite affordable ($30-40) compared to the other games in this genre.

Each player chooses a hero with their own set of stats and abilities. You explore various rooms that can host anything from traps and treasures to hungry monsters. Your goal is simple: you need to brave the dungeon and defeat its final boss. Bosses can differ and each needs another type of strategy to be defeated. The Deluxe Edition of the game features the Potions & Perils expansion. There’s also an add-on expansion called “Tiny Epic Dungeons: Stories” with a set of 8 new miniatures, new content and a story mode that introduces subquests. With this price tag, minis and high replayability, this one is easily a no-brainer for me.

Night Market

And finally: a game that made me interested in it with its unique theme. In Night Market players take on the roles of food vendors in the stall-filled district of Taipei. Each of 1 to 4 players needs to spend the day phase sending their workers to various districts to get resources necessary for cooking all sorts of delicacies. Smart placement allows you to create combos yielding even more goods. You can also hire chefs, build stalls and perform so-called “lantern actions”.

During the night stalls open and you need to place goods in a way that makes your clientele interested and sell them successfully. The game comes in 2 editions: a regular one and deluxe one with upgraded components and a solo mode.
