The author of Cthulhu Wars and tons of other games is back with a new title about a war between good and evil. And even though there are plenty of good old hellborn monsters in the game, Eternal Adversary is supposed to be a completely new and refreshing experience for all ameri game lovers.
Order or Chaos?
When the agents of Chaos attempted to change the history of our planet and cull all of humanity, a certain cataclysm has happened. It resulted in the creation of countless alternative timelines on Earth. That didn’t discourage the Chaos faction, as they keep trying to destroy all of these timelines once and for all.
Meanwhile, in the final timeline a group of brave heroes awaits, ready to fight back and ensure the survival of human race. Players will have to decide which side to take and the author promises, that even if the number of people playing is uneven, faction powers will remain equal.
As the heroes of Earth: players will be tasked with countering the enemy forces and destroying all rifts, that make traveling to their world possible.
As the agents of Chaos: players will look for chaos tokens, and deliver them to the Arch Evil lord.
During the course of the game both sides will gain experience allowing them to boost their power and get new abilities. Everything to prepare for the final battle, that will decide the future of our universe.
The Gameplay
Two sided board shows maps of USA and Europe with slightly different layouts. Replayability is further increased thanks to the random placement of all 30 location cards available in the game.
Players can move to new areas during their turns. If they contain an enemy – a battle starts. Combat is resolved with dice and some additional elements that modify power and effectiveness of attacks. If the location is empty – it should be examined by turning its tile over. This leads to various consequences like gaining experience, encountering enemies, performing special actions etc. Killing opponents awards items, which can be used during the final confrontation.
Forces of Order are made of heroes from various classes and nations: from a Polish winged hussar to Japanese samurai. Chaos side includes monsters such as a Succubus, a Ghoul, and many other equally terrifying creatures. Each character sports a unique set of stats, abilities and is represented by his own detailed miniature.

Eternal Adversary on Kickstarter
The campaign for Eternal Adversary will last until July 10th. The game has collected over 200% of its funding goal so far. The basic pledge is priced at $79 and includes the core game with some bonus miniatures (an Order hero and the main villain from the Chaos faction). The $139 option gives you all of the above as well as 2 expansions with even more heroes for both sides. The complete game is expected to ship early 2021.
