3 Upcoming Gamefound Board Games – Football, Space Mining and Heavy Metal

Let’s change the scenery a little bit and take a look at another crowdfunding platform today. Gamefound is becoming bigger with each passing month and its focus on games makes us always ready to check out all the projects that pop up on it.

Eleven: Football Manager

Football means serious business in many parts of the world. Huge contracts, stadiums filled with fans and unbelievable amounts of excitement each time a championship begins. While Eleven: Football Manager is by no means the first board game about football, it looks like a solid product that seems to be worth waiting for.

Eleven: Football Manager was designed for 1 to 4 players. Each of them becomes a manager of their own football team and tries to make it stronger and more successful with careful planning. A variety of stats like Fan Base or Team Spirit affect how your team is doing, how popular it is and how talented all players are.

During the course of the game you will transfer players from and to your club, hire staff from doctors to trainers, devise strategies and plan formations for upcoming matches and expand your own stadium along other facilities. Succeeding in these activities will help you climb the league ladder and become the best team of the season.

Beyond Humanity: Astrominers was created by a small but insanely creative team called Three Headed Monster. All of its members share lots of love for all sorts of sci-fi projects. Their newest game was designed for 2 to 4 players (6 with an expansion) and focuses on dice placement mechanics.

Each player becomes a leader of a miner team dead set on exploring asteroids to find valuable materials: from water to gold, xenon and many others. Mining is performed by doing missions that you send your people on.

Every player uses their own set of seven special D6 dice designed specifically for this game. Their sides represent various types of workers available for you. After rolling (and sometimes rerolling) all of your dice each round, you have to assign them to specific tasks and missions. VPs are awarded for completing orders and these tend to list a type of a resource that needs to be mined and provided.

CyberMetal 2012

The third upcoming Gamefound title we want to talk about today is a role playing game. While we usually don’t write about these that othen, CyberMetal 2012 looks really like something up our valley.

The world, where the action takes place is highly inspired by heavy metal music culture with a healthy dash of post apo. The setting is quite insane and features events like the ritual sacrifice of Ronal Reagan during a metal concert or opening the gates of hell. Players start their adventure in the Pentagram City filled with demons and other spawns of the underworld.

The setting of CyberMetal 2012 encourages experimenting and provides many means to create deep narration that will immerse your players. The system itself is designed for a team of 2-5 people with a game master to lead their adventures. The authors are planning to follow the projects with more games set in the very same, alternative timeline.
