From creators of Frostpunk and Dying Light

A board game adaptation of the popular battle royale shooter, “Apex Legends”, will launch on Kickstarter this spring. “Apex Legends: The Board Game,” the game condenses massive battle royale experience into a two to four-player board game.
In the board game, each player takes on the role of a unique character, known as a “legend” in the video game. Players drop into a map and battle it out to be the last team standing. The game is designed to be played in teams of two or three, and each match is expected to last approximately an hour.
Glass Cannon Unplugged, the publisher of the board game, has been working on the project for two years. The studio has previously adapted video games Frostpunk and Dying Light into board games, and its founders created the video game adaptation This War of Mine: The Board Game.

According to Glass Cannon Unplugged, “Apex Legends: The Board Game” is not just a single game. The gameplay system provides an innovative combat system and endless replayability. Teams will need to use their interchangeable team of legends and limited resources to outmaneuver their enemies.
The game will feature four legends in the core set: Bloodhound, Gibraltar, Wraith, and Bangalore. Additional characters will appear through expansions and seasonal releases. Also, the game will feature three-dimensional environments based on the maps from the video game.
Glass Cannon Unplugged has hinted at “tournament and organized play” for the game, with a “long roadmap” for future expansions. A Kickstarter campaign for “Apex Legends: The Board Game” will launch on May 17th.
