Fighters of Europe, the latest board game from Capsicum Games, has surpassed its initial funding goal of €20,000 on Kickstarter. The game has currently raised over €109,000. The campaign ends on May 18.
A Fast-Paced, Streamlined Game
Designed as a follow-up to the successful Fighters of the Pacific game, Fighters of Europe allows players to relive the fury of air combat over Europe during World War II. The game is scenario-driven, and the core set includes a modular board, player aids, and many more.
The game’s mechanics are fast-paced and streamlined, with no dice or rulers needed. Players move each airplane individually on a hex grid, trying to get their opponents in their sights. Some airplanes can use bombs to destroy ground installations, and players must stay in formation to keep the initiative. Each airplane has its own attributes in terms of speed, armor, and special abilities.
Expansion Sets for More Historical Immersion
Fighters of Europe will be available in English, French, and Spanish, and will also feature two expansion sets. The Battle of France expansion set allowed players to lead the French Air Force in their heroic attempt to stop the German blitzkrieg in 1940. Defense of the Reich introduces giant aircraft and very fast jet fighters for four new types of aircraft.
Both expansion sets include large objective markers like railways, trains, and German factories. Several scenarios were to recreate major events of the air operations over France and Germany. The Battle of France expansion adds 5 new scenarios and a massive 20 hours of play, while Defense of the Reich adds another 5 scenarios for 40 hours of gameplay in complete historical immersion.
