Need some suggestions when it comes to emptying your wallet? Our Backer’s Guide to Kickstarter is back! This time we’ll show 4 games currently being crowdfunded. Let’s get straight to the point!
The Island of El Dorado: Revenge Expansion

Third installment in the series and (according to the creators): the final one. The game has players revisit the titular island and search its every inch for four mysterious shrines. Gameplay got upgraded with new mechanics and additional ways to play the game.
The latest expansion to the highly modular, competitive strategy adds a new asymmetric faction to the pool. Player boards got expanded and allow for learning new abilities and tactics. A new “fully cooperative” mode was introduced as well. People who have missed on the previous campaigns can get all the products, including the Kickstarter exclusive Big Box, in the Legend Edition pledge.

Space Race

A reimplementation of the card game from 2017 looks really exciting and does a lot to expand the gameplay of the original. Players have to assume the roles of people managing biggest space agencies of the 20th century. The Cold War is still on, and everyone wants to prove, they’ll be the first to explore the universe.
Space Race is mainly a card drafting / hand management game, that utilizes a play mat (which also happens to be the main gameplay addition to the new release). Players choose their actions simultaneously at the start of each round and keep acquiring new cards to make their agency even stronger.

CliniC Deluxe Edition

Ian O’Toole must be one of the most active artists in the world of board games. At least when it comes to Kickstarter. Last month we’ve had the campaign for On Mars, and in May he’s back with another batch of illustrations. This time they’re created for Clinic: Deluxe Edition. The game is a new release of the medical themed Clinic from 2014.
This rather heavyweight title has players try their best as competing factions, trying to build their own clinic in the city, and then making it the number one in the area. You’ll need to hire doctors, nurses and various staff, expand your building and manage everything to help as many patients as possible. The mechanics got shaken up and were upgraded with solo mode, as well as two different setup methods aimed at beginners and more experienced board game players.

Bites

Ants seem like a perfect match for a board game. They’re well organized, always come in huge numbers, and their dwellings remind many people of actual human cities and hierarchy.
Bites is based on the game called Big Points from 2008. The new version adds fresh gameplay mechanics and a completely new theme. Everything comes with some great looking components: like dual layer tokens and a cardboard anthill. Core rules get altered by randomly chosen cards, which make each game different and non repetitive. Players compete for scattered food, but don’t know the values of each item until the end of the game. Special items like chocolate or wine grant access to unique actions or make you score some additional points.
