And what better way to commemorate that that showing you even more shiny projects that will pop up on KS in July and August. Today we’ll pretty you 4 games and start with a long awaited one.
Galaxy Hunters – July 28th
Galaxy Hunters is an ambitious Kickstarter project that’s being relaunched next Tuesday. Aimed at 2 to 4 players, the game takes us to a sci-fi world ruled by megacorps who own colossal, heavily-equipped robots designed to fight equally colossal monsters.
Each player works as a mercenary tasked with piloting a mech and getting rid of all the mutated menace. To achieve that you will have to keep upgrading your own machine. The upgrades seem especially interesting as they add tons of customization to the gameplay and let you create a robot tailored exactly to your strategy and personal preferences. On the top of that, Galaxy Hunters offers a number of pilots for you to choose from. Each has a set of unique variable powers that shake things up even more.
Interestingly, Galaxy Hunters has a heavy dose of classic euro style worker placement with an addition of huge mech minis that make it look like something one of its kind. The new version available on the campaign will include a remade board, much better miniatures, new resource tracks and many gameplay upgrades.
Lizard Wizard – July 28th
Lizard Wizard is the new project by Glenn Drover whom you may recognize from Empires: Age of Discovery and Raccoon Tycoon. Each player takes on the role of a powerful archmage recruiting wizards from 7 different schools of magic. Selecting proper actions strategically is the main part of Lizard Wizard. Doing it smartly will make you the most powerful and influential magic wielder of the realm.
The actions that can be undertaken by players include gathering magical reagents, converting them to pure mana, summoning familiars, building towers, researching spells and of course: recruiting new apprentices to join you.
Arcana Rising – July
Arcana Rising, just like the game above, deals with spellcasters. This time however we’re taking part in a structured contest designed for 2 to 6 participants. The magic itself comes in six different varieties (from Alchemy to Blood Arts) that get additionally powerful during certain phases of the moon.
Core mechanics involve drawing cards and passing unwanted ones to others to create your own point generating engine and, depending on how well you craft it, you have a bigger chance at winning. Considering how important moon is in Arcana Rising, timing your spells to certain periods is vital, which adds an unique dynamic to the whole gameplay.
